Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 9, 2026
HireHeight helps job seekers build a profile and helps employers submit job opportunities for review. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
Job seekers may provide information such as name, email, location, work preferences, skills, availability, target pay, and work authorization response. Employers may provide company information, job details, hiring contact information, website, phone number, and related notes.
Categories of personal information
For purposes of state privacy laws (such as the California Consumer Privacy Act, Virginia CDPA, Colorado CPA, and Indiana CDPA), we collect or may collect the following categories of personal information:
- Identifiers: name, email address, postal location (such as ZIP or city).
- Professional or employment-related information: work history references, skills, availability, target pay, work authorization response.
- Commercial information (employer accounts only): business name, business email, phone number, website, role being hired for, hiring contact details.
- Internet or other electronic activity information: general site usage data such as page views, device type, and approximate location, collected through analytics tools.
We do not knowingly collect financial account numbers, Social Security numbers, government ID numbers, biometric information, or precise geolocation. Users should never submit such information through HireHeight forms or messages.
How we use information
- To build job and candidate matches.
- To review employer submissions before candidate information is shared.
- To contact users about their profile, matches, employer submissions, or support requests.
- To improve site safety, reduce spam, and protect users.
Candidate privacy
Job seeker profiles are not intended to be public pages. Employers should not receive unrestricted access to raw candidate databases. Employer access, if offered, should be reviewed, limited, and controlled.
Employer review
HireHeight may review employer submissions before sharing candidate contact information or facilitating introductions. We may reject or remove submissions that appear misleading, unsafe, fraudulent, discriminatory, or abusive.
Email and notifications
If you choose to receive job updates, we may email you relevant matches or account-related notices. You can request removal from non-essential emails at any time.
Information sharing
We do not sell personal information. We may share information when needed to provide the service, comply with law, prevent fraud or abuse, or with a user's direction or consent.
Service providers we use
To operate HireHeight, we use a small number of third-party service providers. These providers process data on our behalf and are bound by their own privacy obligations:
- Cloudflare — domain hosting, DNS, and email routing.
- Google (Gmail and Google Analytics) — inbox management for support email and aggregated, anonymized site analytics. We have configured Google Analytics to anonymize IP addresses and to disable advertising and ad personalization signals.
- Resend — outbound transactional email delivery (such as match notifications and account confirmations).
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights with respect to personal information we hold about you:
- Right to know: request a copy of the personal information we have collected about you.
- Right to correct: request that we correct inaccurate personal information.
- Right to delete: request that we delete your personal information, subject to limited legal exceptions.
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing: we do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. If this ever changes, we will provide a clear "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" mechanism.
- Right to non-discrimination: you will not receive worse service for exercising these rights.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@hireheight.com. We will verify your identity through the email address tied to your profile and respond within the timeframes required by applicable law (generally within 45 days).
Data retention
We keep job seeker profile information for as long as your profile is active and for a limited period afterward to allow you to reactivate the account or request export. If you request deletion or have not used the service in over 24 months, we will delete or anonymize your profile information, except where retention is required by law or needed for fraud prevention. Employer submission records may be retained longer for review and accountability purposes.
Data storage and security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No online system can be guaranteed 100% secure, so users should avoid submitting highly sensitive information unless specifically required through proper hiring channels.
Information employers should not request through HireHeight
Employers should not request Social Security numbers, banking details, scans of IDs, payment for applications, or sensitive documents through HireHeight messages or informal contact. If you encounter an employer requesting any of these things, please report it to hello@hireheight.com.
Your choices
You may request that we update or delete your information by contacting us at hello@hireheight.com.
Children
HireHeight is not intended for children under 13. Users should only submit information if they are legally able to use job search services in their location.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the service changes. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
